Propecia Tablets are a treatment for male pattern hair loss, also known as androgenetic alopecia. Each film-coated tablet contains 1 mg of finasteride, a medicine from a group called Type II 5-alpha reductase inhibitors. It is designed for use by men to slow hair loss and support regrowth on the scalp.
What Are Propecia Tablets Used For?
Propecia is used to manage male pattern baldness by:
— Supporting new hair growth on the scalp
— Slowing down further hair thinning
— Working best in men with mild to moderate hair loss (not total baldness)
How Do Propecia Tablets Work?
Propecia lowers levels of DHT (dihydrotestosterone), a hormone that causes hair follicles to shrink. By blocking DHT in the scalp, it helps slow further hair loss and encourages regrowth.
How Should Propecia Be Taken?
For best results, take Propecia exactly as prescribed:
— Swallow one tablet daily, with or without food
— Try to take it at the same time each day
— It may take 3 to 6 months to notice visible improvement
— If you stop taking it, you may lose any regrowth within 9 to 12 months
— If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember—just don’t double up
Are There Any Side Effects of Propecia?
Like most medicines, Propecia can cause side effects, though not everyone gets them. Some effects may ease over time or stop after treatment ends.
— Common effects: Lower sex drive, trouble getting or keeping an erection, changes in ejaculation
— Uncommon: Low mood or feelings of depression

Who Should Avoid Propecia?
